Our Christmas Kids program is designed to assist low-income families in providing gifts for their children on Christmas Day. Families register each child for clothing and toys or games from the child’s wish list. We partner with local churches, organizations, and radio stations to find sponsors for each child. Sponsors are then given the child’s first name, age, sizes, and wish list to purchase gifts. Sponsors then bring their unwrapped gifts to the House of the Carpenter to be prepared for the families.
Registration is held in October we will share dates on our calendar as well as our Facebook page and Instagram page. We ask those registering to please bring photo identification, social security cards for all in the household, guardianship paperwork if you are not a child’s biological parent, proof of income for all members of the family which can include a pay stub, current tax returns, social security or disability letter, or a letter from DHHR or Job and Family. Please also bring childrens’ clothing sizes (shirts, pants, underwear, bras, etc.) and their wish list. Without this information, we will not be able to register your child.
